THE LICENSING OF THE NEW PRIEST IN CHARGE OF SALTFLEETBY Since the departure of the Rev. Bridget Hill over
three years ago Saltfleetby has been without a priest and during this period the
church of St.Peter’s has had to rely on the Rural Dean to organise ministers to
take the Sunday services, weddings, funerals etc. Tuesday 12th. September saw
the end of this with the Licensing of the Reverend Christopher Matthew Turner as
Priest-in-Charge of the Benefices of Mid Marsh, Saltfleetby and Theddlethorpe
and with the responsibility for Lay Training throughout the Deanery.

Reverend Turners first Communion service at St Peters To follow on from your account of the licencing of Revd Chris Turner at Grimoldby, Revd Turner’s first Communion Service in the area was hosted by St Peter’s. There was a good congregation there with someone representing most, if not all, the other churches in the group. The St Peter’s choir led the singing and Eileen Borrill played the organ, as she does every Sunday. Several people from other churches remarked on how fortunate we are to have an organ and organist each Sunday! Revd Turner conducted the service and preached for the first time in the group Our Church Warden, Jean Douglass took part in the service and the choir sung during communion. At the end, our ladies, as usual, served coffee and biscuits, which gave the opportunity for us to chat with other members of the group. It was a very happy occasion. N.B. |
