Cheese and Wine Evening

Saturday Jan 31st saw our first fund raising event of 2004 in aid of the new hall. This took the form of a cheese and wine evening, and was attended by some thirty people. The old hall looked very attractive, each table having a pretty flower arrangement as a centre piece, this was complimented with a 'food table' containing five different types of cheese, with biscuits to suit all, plum bread, and pickled onions for those with a savoury taste.
The wines; all purchased from the village shop, proved to be very popular and it was good to be able to put our 'occasional' liquor licence to use.
The raffle proved to be very popular. All the prizes had been donated and our grateful thanks go to those who so generously did so.
We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and at the end of the night we were able to add £150 to our funds.
