JULY/ AUGUST: VILLAGE HALL FUND RAISING EVENTS

In July we had two fundraising events, a car boot sale and a musical evening with Steve Carlisle of the “Mike Penders Searchers” who entertained us with sounds of the “Sixties and Seventies”. When Steve was not on stage we had music provided by international D.J. Jazzy Joe, (Russel Roddis), and this encouraged people to get up and dance, even though the floor was not up to “Come Dancing” standards.
The bar and barbecue were popular throughout the evening and we raised £226 for the new village hall fund
All who attended agreed that it was a very enjoyable evening, and would like to see a repeat performance when it can be arranged.

We started August off with a Fun Day in the grounds of the village hall. All the usual games were in evidence, and once again we had a bar, barbecue with refreshments being served throughout the afternoon.
The drawing of the raffle brought the afternoon to a close and the winner of the first prize, (Two nights in a four star hotel with tickets to “Legoland” for a family of four,) was Mrs M Carling of Mablethorpe
The afternoon was a great success financially, and we were able to add £596 to the new village hall fund.
Our next event is a Car Boot on Sunday 29th August at the Village Hall, starting at 1 pm.
