MISSING

Have you seen Saltfleetby St. Clements Churchyard Lych-gate?

Did you see anyone or anything suspicious outside this church on the B1200;

 Between 7pm on Sunday 1st May 2005 and 11am on Monday 2nd May 2005?

This was the time that this gate went missing, if you have seen this gate for sale or can remember seeing  anything unusual please contact us.

In the early 1930's Mrs. Carr-Gregg the wife of the Rector paid for the Lych-gate to be built by Mr Webster and this was dedicated by the Bishop of Lincoln. To celebrate the occasion an ox was roasted in a nearby field. A Mr. Turner from London was in charge of the roast and Mr. Syd Snowden, a Mablethorpe butcher, assisted him. Most of the village turned out to enjoy the feast. Great occasion on those day!!!

This Gate is not of any vast monetary value to anyone else, but it is of massive historical and sentimental value to our village!
 

now after all of these years someone has stolen it, PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!
